Interview With Patient Who Recovers from Covid19
NBC Las Vegas recently interviewed a patient who had been admitted to the ICU for Covid19 and acute respiratory distress. As part of the treatment, Dr Voscopoulos proned the intubated patient. The procedure seemed to help his symptoms.
“He presented in what we call full respiratory failure – he couldn’t breathe,” he said. “When you’re fighting for your life, if you open up an additional 2, 3, 4, 5% lung, that can make the difference between life and death.”
